Phillip Lloyd is the person responsible for setting up our GLAMx AV lab with a range of machines to capture our Hunter Region’s historic audio-visual film and magnetic tape archives, including the NBN Television Archives dating from 1962, and our University’s historic film holdings dating from the 1920s.
In the video above Phil explains what we need right now, which is a SONY DXC-9100P 3-CCCD Colour Video Camera.
They use this camera to capture our 16mm and 8mm film archives, and if anything happens to the one we have, then all the digitisation work will come to a halt. To see the range of objectives for this year see: https://hunterlivinghistories.com/2020/01/15/glamx-av-2020/
So we need a backup camera, (or cameras) to continue the work.
If you can help, please contact us at archives@newcastle.edu.au or make a donation to the Vera Deacon Regional History Fund through the University’s Office of Alumni & Philanthropy. More info on the Vera Deacon Fund is here: https://uoncc.wordpress.com/vera-deacon-fund/ Thank you so much.
