The University released it Looking Ahead 2030 plan: www.newcastle.edu.au/our-uni/strategic-plan

The September HLH 2025 Showcase was completely dedicated to listening to people’s experiences and wishes for the future University plan. The following ideas for our Special Collections & Archives, GLAMx Hunter Living Histories 2026 goals as a response are for provided below for discussion at our forthcoming June 2026 Hunter Living Histories Showcase.   • Jacob Ure’s ‘Operation Seagull: The Stockton Bight Disaster’ 

Jacob Writes:

“I’m reaching out to share a documentary I recently completed titled Operation Seagull: The Stockton Bight Disaster. The film documents the events of the 1954 training exercise off Stockton Bight and records the memories of several of the men who were involved.
