The next in the series of Stories of Our Town films will be on Shipwrecks of the Hunter, and has just gone into pre-production. This will be the third film that Chit Chat von Loopin Stab (a.k.a. Glenn Dormand) and Tony Whittaker have embarked on this year.
We have digitised this important Newcastle Herald Supplement, originally published on the 26 May 1994 by the late historian and journalist Norm Barney, which will help in the research into the film.
Great work. It might be of interest to the film makers – 4 lanes in Stockton were recently named after various shipwrecks (some more famous than others). The Stockton Historical Society Inc also holds original manuscripts and other work by a number of local historians related to the various wrecks and strandings around Stockton.
