‘What The Land Had To Say’
Reese North is a poet, historian and gardener. He was born in New Lambton, Newcastle, and from the age of 23, through his travels, became connected, attached and inspired by Aboriginal people, their lives and culture under colonisation.
The poems reflect his journey which began with his involvement with the 2nd Tent Embassy on Capital Hill, ACT, 1976-79, and continued over the next 14 years with travels on Country with the Elders and tribal members across Western N.S.W., Victoria and Western Australia.
