About this online event

Join the Hunter Living Histories online showcase where the Special Collections and GLAMx team at the University of Newcastle Library discuss their audio-visual digitisation projects spanning the audio visual history of the Hunter Region, including the NBN Television Archive. They describe the art and science of processing analogue magnetic tape and film recordings to digital formats. The projects have been very much a ‘hands on’ challenge involving many stakeholders to help preserve, prepare and digitise the “at risk” formats, by sourcing legacy machines and equipment, specialist expertise and knowledge about how to safely digitise the material. The session includes presentations and Q&A with invited guests and will be hosted as part of the University Library’s monthly Hunter Living Histories online showcase. All Welcome.

WHEN –  Monday 5 September 2022 (1.00pm-2.30pm)

ONLINE EVENT – via ZOOM
