In December 2022, Mr Ian Sherman was interviewed at the GLAMx Lab about his historic brick collection and spoke with Dr Ann Hardy about his extensive collection of over 7000 bricks mostly associated with the Newcastle Region that he has amassed over six decades. During the interview Julien Gillard (Makerspace SPSA) 3D scanned some of Ian’s bricks with the Artec scanner at the Lab. These 3D scans have been incorporated in the interview and Ian shares knowledge about several of his favourites from the collection.
In mid 2023 Ian Sherman donated his brick collection to owners of the Beach Hotel at Merewether Newcastle and they have been incorporated into the recent renovations.
