The University of Newcastle Library’s Special Collections is the home of the historical and cultural memory of the University and its regional context and has been digitising items from their holdings since the 1990s. The university library holds thousands of items, including collections of manuscripts, University Archives and Rare Books collections of medieval manuscripts and early printed books, as well as personal papers, diaries, oral histories and other important archives associated with business and industry. Digital Scriptorium of the Special Collections contains a selection of digitised manuscript and printed works.
